The two weeks since students returned to campus have been busy. We have seen snow, MLK week, and a $2 million student-funded gift. Wow!  The passion, generosity, and drive of our students never ceases to amaze me.

UI What's Up

Every month I prepare a newsletter, much like this one, for UI students. I have found it is a nice way to share news, activities, and events that are taking place across campus. The students have been so engaged that we recently started a video series called UI What's Up. The first video features the climbing wall at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center.  Enjoy learning a little more about this campus treasure.

UI Student Government

Our campus is fortunate to have an active and engaged student government. The work they do is a reflection of the student body's interests and concerns. Student leaders recently compiled a list of their Top 10 UISG accomplishments. I hope you will take a moment to read about the difference they are making.

Flu Shots

Cold and flu season is here, and we want to keep our Hawkeye community as healthy as possible. If your student has not received a flu shot yet this year, they are available at the Student Health and Wellness clinic. If you get calls from a student not feeling well, please share the resources available with them.

Thank you for all you do to support the University of Iowa.

All my best,
